Programmable atomic Large-Scale Quantum Simulation 2.1

EBERHARD KARLS UNIVERSITAET TUEBINGEN

The University of Tübingen, founded in 1477, is one of eleven universities judged excellent under the German government’s Excellence Initiative, and ranks well in international comparisons. More than 5,400 scientists and academics work at the University of Tübingen. We invest more than 200 million euros annually in a wide variety of research projects. As a comprehensive research university, Tübingen has solid foundations in the Sciences and Life Sciences as well as in the Humanities and Social Sciences. We have special strength due to our close collaboration with many non-university research institutions in our region and with notable universities around the world. With more than 230 subjects on offer, the University of Tübingen gives prospective students a wide range of choices. A sharp focus on research is a major drawcard for Master’s students and doctoral candidates. The University not only trains our future experts and leaders; it is living up to its responsibility for the world of tomorrow.

Role within PASQuanS 2

UT is developing two neutral atom quantum simulation platforms. One activity targets to advance fermion qubits in optical lattices with a focus on entropy control and new detection methods. UT’s second research line is about quantum simulations of spin-Hamiltonians with alkali and alkaline-earth atoms in optical tweezers with a focus on interaction control and the combination of the tweezer platform with cryogenic technologies.
