FZJ: Expansion of Jülich’s Quantum Computer Infrastructure

Forschungszentrum Jülich is set to enhance its quantum computing capabilities with the acquisition of the IQM Spark, a 5-qubit quantum system manufactured by IQM Quantum Computers. The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) will integrate the IQM Spark into its infrastructure, allowing it to commence operations in July 2024.

This addition to the JUNIQ quantum computing framework will enable researchers to explore the synergy between classical supercomputers and quantum systems, potentially unlocking faster computational speeds. The initiative marks another stride in Jülich's commitment to advancing quantum computing research.
